President Obama has received more than $500,000 in donations from military members, a figure that dwarfs the amount Mitt Romney raised by more than $250,000. That’s according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan election money tracking site, which released a report on October 15th detailing the political spending habits of military personnel.

Survey: Majority Opposes Defense Cuts To Reduce Deficit -- The Hill

A new survey found that more than half of the public opposes cutting defense spending in order to reduce the deficit.

But the idea is still divided along party lines, with President Obama supporters in favor of cutting defense and Mitt Romney’s backers opposed, according to the survey from the Pew Research Center released Friday.

The poll found 56 percent of total respondents opposed “reducing military defense spending” in order to cut the debt and deficit, while 40 percent supported it. The idea had the fourth highest disapproval rating among 12 tested by Pew for reducing the deficit.

My Comment: According to the Pew poll, 56% oppose U.S. defense cuts .... this is a surprisingly high number to me .... I expected the number to be in the low 40s. Bottom line .... these poll results reveal how hard it will be for the next administration and Congress to deal with America`s uncontrollable spending and budget deficits.
