Hillary Clinton Hospitalized After Doctors Discover Blood Clot

Hillary Clinton Hospitalized After Doctors Discover Blood Clot -- NBC

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was admitted to a New York City hospital on Sunday after doctors discovered that a blood clot had formed, the State Department said in a statement.

Philippe Reines, a deputy assistant secretary, said in the statement that the clot stems from a concussion Clinton sustained several weeks ago.

Reines said that Clinton, 65, is being treated with anti-coagulants at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. She will be monitored there for the next 48 hours, he said.

“Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion," he said. "They will determine if any further action is required.”

Update: Hillary Clinton too sick to testify on Benghazi, not too sick to party -- Examiner

My Comment:
I am very skeptical of this report. I do believe that something is medically wrong with her, it is not like her to avoid the spotlight this long when something goes wrong like Benghazi.

Update: State Dept. Says Hillary Clinton Is Not Celebrating in Dominican Republic as Reported -- Human Events

My Comment #2: Just curious .... but what are they doing for New Years Eve? Not surprisingly .... that's a question that the U.S. State Department did not answer except to say that she will return to work next week and that she had slated this period of time as a holiday.

Clinton Suffers A Concussion; Benghazi Testimony Postponed

Hillary Clinton Gets Concussion After Fainting -- Washington Post

Philippe Reines, a State Department spokesman, said Clinton became dehydrated because of the virus and fainted, sustaining the concussion. He said she has been under the care of doctors.

“At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with department and other officials,” Reines said in a statement. “She is looking forward to being back in the office soon.”

President Hillary Clinton In 2016?

'I Am... Not Only Healthy, But Have Incredible Stamina And Energy:' Yoga Aficionado Hillary Clinton Says She's Not Too Old To Run For President In 2016 -- Daily Mail

While she maintains publicly that she has little interest in running for president in 2016, Hillary Clinton doesn't want anyone to doubt that she has the grit for the job.

'I am, thankfully, knock on wood, not only healthy, but have incredible stamina and energy,' Clinton told Barbara Walters when asked whether at age 67, she is too old to consider the prospect of a two-term presidency starting in 2016.

'I just want to see what else is out there,' she added.

My Comment: I am rolling my eyes .... Jeffrey Meyer's take on this stupid interview is on the money.

As to 2016 .... our concerns should instead be on 2013 .... and can we survive the mess that our politicians .... from all political parties .... have inflicted on us.

Will Hillary Run In 2016?

Who knows: She reportedly thinks that one of her biggest mistakes in her last presidential bid was announcing too early, so if she goes for it again, she likely won't say so publicly until mid-2015

Hillary Set To Head For Hamptons Bolthole With Bill To Plot Her 'Plans For 2016' After Leaving The State Department Next Month -- Daily Mail

Hillary Clinton is set to set up camp in a luxury Hamptons home with husband Bill and plot her moves for a widely-expected run for the Presidency in 2016.

She will step down as Secretary of State after the President's inauguration in January, and aides have revealed how she will retreat to the New York seaside famous for its wealthy residents.

Mrs Clinton is also set to discuss whether or not she will run for president in 2016.

According to multiple reports, Mrs Clinton has echoed her denials of plans to run for office in both private and public, but that doesn't mean that she can just go ahead and truly let loose in her new-found state of unemployment.

My Comment: I doubt that she will run for the White House. For the past few months she has been looking very tired .... and her "energy" is certainly not there. My suggestion to her would be to enjoy her money and her "new" freedom ... I know I would.

Why Is The Washington Post Concerned That The Benghazi Attack May Cloud Clinton’s Legacy?

Benghazi Attack May Cloud Clinton’s Legacy -- Washington Post

The fatal attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya last month has become a test of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s leadership and a threat to her much-admired legacy as America’s top diplomat just a few months before she plans to step down.

Clinton was among the first Obama administration officials to publicly condemn the attack and mourn the deaths of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. But as the State Department has weathered Republican-led criticism that it misread warning signs before the Sept. 11 attack, Clinton has been far less visible.

My Comment: This Washington Post article is too "soft and kind" to Secretary of State Clinton .... if it was anyone else they would be demanding and screaming for her resignation. As I had mentioned in previous posts .... the White House and the State Department's contradictory and misleading reports on the attack of the US consulate in Benghazi and the subsequent murder of a US ambassador has been a disaster .... and it just keeps on giving. Just this evening the AP has come out with a new report on how the State Department actually responded after the attack .... which (not surprisingly) completely contradicts the White House and the message that it was sending out 24 hours after the attack. When asked why the contradiction with the White House .... the State Department official essentially says ... go ask them. Hmmm ... talk about bad blood.

But the news gets even better .... Secretary of State Clinton should be the one who should be grilled this Wednesday by Congress on the Benghazi disaster .... but she is not showing up .... instead some lower (but trusted?) State Department official will be sent. Sighhhh ....  I suspect that she knows that  it is not going to be an easy time for anyone in that chair .... and she sure as hell does not want to be the one sitting in it. Am I disappointed .... yup .... I expected more from her.

What's my take .... someone has to be held accountable for the security failure(s) at the consulate, the failure to properly communicate to the White House and the American public, and most important of all .... to the families who lost loved ones in this debacle. Being the head of the State Department .... Hillary Clinton's head in any other time would be on a platter right now .... but in this hyper election season she will be spared, and politely pushed out of the door when her tenure at the State Department ends and she takes retirement from political life.

As for her political legacy .... who cares?
